How to manage the working pattern and holiday allowance for a casual worker

Is your employee a casual worker who always works varying days in a week and varying hours in a day ?

Suitable Working Pattern

Create and assign a working pattern that shows their availability over the week.

Suitable Holiday Allowance

Assign a zero HOURS holiday allowance which can be manually adjusted in hours as they accrue holiday:

We would recommend that you tick 'ignore working pattern' box on the employee profile in this particular case.

In the box, record the hours that this employee is available for rather than what they work on average (as this will be challenging to calculate).

By ticking 'ignore working pattern when booking leave', you instruct the system to ignore what hours are recorded against each possible working day and allow the employee to make a manual hourly deduction when requesting leave:

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ABOVE IS INTENDED MERELY AS A GUIDE TO SETTING UP AN EFFECTIVE WORKING PATTERN AND HOLIDAY ALLOWANCE IN THE GIVEN SCENARIO.

IT IS NOT INTENDED TO BE PRESCRIPTIVE.
